Photo Fun

I love taking pictures but sometimes taking pictures of two kids can be challenging.  Thankfully Brayden is a good sport and would say, "Mom do you want to take 10 or 11 pictures." He is usually good about being in the pictures or  being a helper if I am trying to take pictures of just Landon.  He will talk to Landon or shake a toy to try to get him to look at me.

Landon is the lil bro!

At 2 weeks old Landon is very alert.

So little yet already showing us a smirk.  I wonder what he is thinking.
    * You guys look like a crazy circus trying to get me to smile.

Brotherly love.  I hope they grow up to be the best of friends.

Meeting Landon

For months prior to Landon's birth I wondered how we would share the news with big brother.  Due to high numbers of people contracting the flu the hospital decided to put into place strict visitor guidelines to keep the newborns safe.  No more than 2 visitors at a time and no one under 18.  I knew I wanted B to be the first one to know about his sibling so we decided we would take video and pictures and when Grandma Becky came to visit Andrew would share those with B.

Fast forward to birth day...the hospital is so full they don't have room to move us to the post-partum floor like  normally would.  That meant our nurse was used to caring for moms in labor not ones who had already given birth. She would come in and since things were going so well we would just chat.  I had told her our plan about introducing B to his sibling and she let us know that although he couldn't come into our room, if we took Landon to the nursery Brayden could look at him through the window.  We decided that would be better than showing him the videos.  After we met with the pediatrician Andrew would head home to get Brayden and Grandma.  A few minutes later our nurse came in and said when she got back to the nurses station she found out that the flu ban had just been lifted.  She had just gotten an e-mail about it.  Andrew left almost immediately to head home. While he was gone I got dressed and cleaned up while I waited for them to get back.

Andrew sent me a text to let me know when they were on their way up.  I could hear him coming down the hallway and here is what he  thought.

He was so excited to meet his baby.  He wanted to be right next to him.

I think it was love at first sight for all of us.

And just like that we are a family of 4!
